What’s the movie about?
The shy 14-year-old Duncan (Liam James) has no easy life. During the summer holidays he has to live with his mother Pam (Toni Collette), her new arrogant friend Trent (Steve Carell) and his daughter Steph (Zoe Levin) in a beach house. He doesn’t know what to do with the adults’ drinking bouts in the evenings. Fortunately there is a water park not far from the beach house. He quickly befriends the park manager Owen (Sam Rockwell). With his help he manages to improve his self-confidence and suddenly a pretty girl (AnnaSophia Robb) seems to be interested in him.
