What’s the movie about?
Los Angeles 1970: The private detective Larry “Doc” Sportello (Joaquin Phoenix) is visited by his ex-girlfriend Shasta (Katherine Waterston), who tells him a crazy story. She has an affair with the billionaire Mickey Wolfman (Eric Roberts) and found out that his wife and his lover plan to kidnap Mickey and then put him in a psychiatric institution. In the course of his investigation he not only has to deal with his enemy ex-colleague Christian “Bigfoot” Bjornsen (Josh Brolin), but also has to deal with shady characters.
