What’s the tv show about?
The drama series “The Resident” is about the assistant doctor Dr. Conrad Hawkins (Matt Czuchry), who is in his third year of training. He takes the ambitious newcomer Devon Pravesh (Manish Dayal) under his wing. Devon holds a degree from Harvard and is one of the best in his field. But he quickly learns that there are different rules in everyday hospital life. At the end of the day, medicine is a business like any other that is supposed to make a profit. So the chief of surgery cares more about his popularity than about his patients. Among the hospital staff he is even called “Doctor Death” because he loses more patients than he saves.
Devon gets support in the hospital from the nurse Nicolette (Emily VanCamp), who has a constant on-off relationship with Conrad.
