What’s the movie about?
The Amazing Spider-Man™ tells the story of Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), a high school student and outsider who was abandoned by his parents as a young boy and has been raised by his Uncle Ben (Martin Sheen) and Aunt May (Sally Field) ever since. Like most teenagers, Peter tries to figure out who he is and how he became the person he is today. He also finds his first high school love, Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone). Together, the two struggle to find love, devotion and secrets. When Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that once belonged to his father, he begins investigating to understand why his parents disappeared so suddenly back then. His research leads him directly to Oscorp and the laboratory of Dr. Curt Connors (Rhys Ifans), his father’s former partner. After Spider-Man embarks on a collision course with Connors’ alter ego The Lizard, Peter must make some life-changing decisions about how he uses his powers. And he shapes his destiny to be a hero.
