What’s the movie about?
The drama “Green Book” takes place in the USA in 1962: Dr. Don Shirley (Mahershala Ali) is a black gifted pianist who plans a tour of all of America. The driver Tony Lip (Viggo Mortensen) will accompany him on his journey. Lip is an Italo-American who struggles with odd jobs. On the long journey across the USA they orientate themselves on the Negro Motorist Green Book, which lists the accommodations and restaurants, in which also black guests are welcome. During the long journey a good friendship slowly develops between the two very different men.
