What’s the movie about?
Busy architect Peter Highman (Robert Downey Jr.), after an important business meeting in Atlanta, wants to join his heavily pregnant wife in Los Angeles as soon as possible. When he arrives at the airport, he first meets wannabe actor Ethan Tremblay (Zach Galifianakis). Once on the plane, the odd Ethan immediately puts him in a precarious situation. After a derailed argument on the plane between the two, Peter is shot down with a rubber bullet by a flight security officer. When he regains consciousness, he finds himself in the flight safety office and learns that he is now grounded and that his entire luggage, including his wallet, is on the plane bound for Los Angeles. Desperate, he looks for a new way to get to his wife in Los Angeles. Without any chance of reaching his destination, he meets the crazy Ethan again, who offers to take him to L.A.. After initial hesitation, he accepts the offer and so begins a crazy, bizarre road trip.
